Fanfic: Summer Love Chapter 1

mearikattun_hsjHello hello!~ :) It's been a while since I posted. Though I doubt anyone reads my posts hahaha! Sooo here goes! This is the first time that I made a fanfic! I'm quite nervous haha! yashirai. Actually, I'm not the kind of person who always reads fanfics (since I'm lazy LOL huhu) that's why I never anticipated that I would one day write a fanfic! But thanks to my friend, yashirai, we've come up with ideas for the story. We hope you'll like it! :) Right now, this is only the 1st chapter but we've already come up with ideas for the next chapters.
Main Characters: Jinguji Yuta, Nagase Ren, Kageyama Rin(OC), and Sato Mari (OC)
Genre: school life, fluff, romance, friendship
Note: Let’s assume that they are all in the same age. So in this story they are all 18 years old. J
Rin and Jinguji were friends since grade school then they knew Mari in middle school. They've known each other for many years already so they’ve become very close with each other. Now, they're on their last year in Hibiya High school. Their closeness gave misconceptions from the people surrounding them. They thought that Jinguji was gay but he was really not. It was just because Jinguji would accompany Rin and Mari wherever they went. However, Jinguji didn’t seem affected to those rumors since he always enjoyed the company of his girl best friends and his soccer club friends whenever he's with them.
"Omg I'm so excited for the upcoming summer Festival!" Mari giggled while Rin and Jinguji grinned at her reaction. The three were having lunch at their favorite spot, the rooftop, while talking about what to do this upcoming summer break.
On the way back to their classroom, both girls were still happily thinking about the summer festival. "Hmm what will happen that day, naa, I'll buy a new yukata to wear and let's try kingyo sukui again! This time I'll surely catch at least one. Oh pleaseee!" Rin said, sounding more excited than Mari was. Jinguji, amused at Rin, jokingly said, "Seriously? Why are you all excited for that?" he sighed and looked exasperated. "And you'll never catch a thing, Rin. I swear!" he added, teasing her. Rin made a face and Mari laughed at her reaction, "Yuta's right, your case is hopeless in kingyo sukui you know! Hahaha," she teased along with Jinguji. "You two! So mean!!" Rin protested as she pouted her lips. Mari pinched Rin's cheeks and said that she was trying to be cute in front of them. Jinguji nodded and looked away, his cheeks reddened a bit. "What on earth was that?" he thought and felt his heart thumping like crazy after seeing the cute act of Rin..or maybe that wasn't really it?
He admitted to himself that he was in love with her already.. At first, he believed that it was just normal that he admired his best friend… that it was normal to feel so happy being with her. He wanted to see her smile, to hear her laughter, to listen to her giggles. Everything she did seemed important for Jinguji. That was what he convinced himself, but he realized it wasn't just like that. It was something more than that. He wanted to be with Rin more. Not just as a best friend but as more than that. Then again, he was unsure whether to confess or just keep it to himself so as not to lose her.
Weeks passed and exams were about to finish. Students of Hibiya High were beginning to feel relieved. But one of them was feeling more nervous than ever! Jinguji knew that his feelings for Rin was making it hard for him to act normal towards her. He wouldn't want her to misunderstand anything so he decided that he shouldn't hide those feelings anymore.
"Agh! How should I say it? 'Rin... We've known each other for so long... Now I realize that... I like you!' Aaa~ no that's too dramatic! 'Rin, I've seen a lot of pretty girls out there, but for me, no one could beat you! I love you!' Hmm that's too cheesy!"
While Jinguji was tensely practicing his confession, a sudden chuckle from behind startled him. "Ahaha what was that Yuta? Eh? Really?" Jinguji felt his shoulders shiver. "Yabai! Someone found out!" he thought. He turned around to see who it was and thankfully it was Mari.
"Mari! Please please please keep this a secret! I'd do anything! I'll even buy you desserts for 1 week! Just don't tell anyone especially Rin!"
Mari couldn't help but laugh a bit. She thought that finally Jinguji was becoming honest to himself. Of course, she didn't tell Jinguji that she knew the fact that he had always liked Rin. Hence, she went with the flow. "Wow Yuta, you'd do that?" Mari exclaimed with delight. "Well... I don't know...," Mari said, pretending to think about the deal.
"Fine! Fine! I'll also buy you one box of chocolates from Choco la vie!" Jinguji desperately begged.
"Ok ok~ It's a deal!" Mari said as she clapped her hands. "One more thing, you should let me help you! Right? I'm sure you'll succeed if I help! What do you say, Yuta?"
Seeing his best friend's proud look, (and seeing there was no other choice lol) Jinguji agreed. "Woah! Thank you Mari! You saved me! Hmm.. Ah! I know! My cousin will be back from Osaka after so many years. Rin knows him too but it's been a long time since they've seen each other. Anyway, I think he can help in this plan too! He's kind of an ikemen so I'm sure he knows about these stuffs!" Jinguji uttered as if he was trying to encourage himself.
"Huh? You have an ikemen cousin? Why didn't you introduce me? Hahaha! We might be a good match! Hahahaha! Just kidding! I don't have time for boyfriends and stuffs," Mari jokingly said so as to make Jinguji laugh.
"Don't worry, you'll meet him soon Mari haha! Hmm are you free this Saturday?" Mari patted Jinguji and replied, "Yeah, I guess I can clear my schedule for this 'mission: Yuta finally becomes a man' hahaha!"
"Oi!! What was that?!" Jinguji shouted. As the two were talking about their secret plan, Rin went inside the classroom. She looked at how cheerful her two friends were while talking. She felt as if needles were pierced into her heart. But then she realized that there wasn't any reason to be jealous about so she felt a bit guilty. Rin brushed off the bad feeling and smiled, "What are you guys talking about?"
"Oh, Yuta was just telling his lame jokes again hahaha," Mari smoothly said. "Eh?" Jinguji accidentally responded. Mari gave Jinguji a pat on the back again but this time it was hard enough to make him snap out and just go with the flow. Stumbling with his words, Jinguji let out a suspicious come back, "EHH! But I thought my jokes were funny? Ne, Rin? Hora Mari was even laughing earlier!"
"Ok ok if you say so Jinguji! Hahaha! Come on let's go home!" Rin said as she went along with the conversation. The three got their bags and went out the classroom. They take the same train on the way home and this gave the chance for them to chat more with each other.
"Bye bye!" Mari shouted as she reached the doorstep of her home. "Jaa ne!" Rin and Jinguji waved back. Everything was going well until it was just the two of them. Jinguji was trying to calm himself when he suddenly felt Rin's gaze. "Hm?" Jinguji asked. "Ah iie it's nothing Jinguji it's just that...," Rin hesitated to continue. "What is it? Is something wrong Rin?" Jinguji worriedly asked. "Uhm, do you like anyone, Jinguji?" Rin finally got out the words. "Huh? What? Why?" Jinguji got more nervous. He thought that he was found out. "Mou~ ok, do you like Mari-chan?" More than Jinguji, Rin was surprised by her own words. "Ha?! Hahahahahha wait I can't stop laughing hahahahaha! That girl?! Hahahahaha don't get me wrong Rin, she's likable but she's not my type! Moreover, I won't be able to survive being with her in the future since she'll probably keep on blabbing about how she loves that pianist guy she always watches!" Jinguji finally relaxed after letting out a long and loud laugh. "Ahh, is that so? Well yeah she does day dream a lot about her pianist idol ne hahaha." Rin too was finally able to relax.
After a few minutes, the two reached their homes. They didn't notice the time since they had fun talking with each other. However, amusingly, what both of them did right after entering their own rooms was to lie down on their beds. They even let out big sighs after that.
'Why am I relieved?' Rin thought. This girl was definitely confused with her feelings. While Rin was thinking about her mixed up feelings, various thoughts were also flashing in Jinguji's mind, 'Woah, wait. Why did Rin ask that? Eh? Could it possibly be... Nah! I shouldn't get too confident! I must work hard! Yosh!'
Yaaay! Chapter 1 is finished! I hope people that will read this will like it! Comments would really be appreciated. :) Any constructive criticisms would also be appreciated but please put it nicely. haha :)
